Editorial Policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

This page sets out how the material on My Zodiac Guide is produced, sourced, reviewed and corrected. It exists so you can judge the site rather than take its word.

Who produces it

A small independent editorial team. We are not a temple, a professional association, or a licensed practitioner body, and we do not claim to be. We do claim care with sources, and we name our method where it matters — the calendar mathematics is documented in full on how we calculate.

Where the material comes from

Chinese zodiac interpretation is not a single canon. It is a body of almanac practice, folk custom and regional variation. We handle that in three tiers, and we try to say which tier a claim belongs to:

  • Documented system. The twelve branches, ten stems, sixty-year cycle, five elements and the relationship tables (六合, 三合, 冲, 害, 刑, 破). These are structured and checkable; where we state them, we mean them literally.
  • Widely attested practice. Ben Ming Nian conventions, red string and red clothing, Tai Sui positions, the Lunar New Year customs described on our seasonal pages. Common across regions but not uniform — we describe the common form and say when a practice is regional.
  • Folk narrative. The Great Race, why there is no cat, animal personality stereotypes. Told as story, labelled as story. We say plainly when something is a folk explanation rather than a doctrinal one.

Where a claim is contested, we say it is contested instead of picking the most confident-sounding version.

What we do not publish

  • Predictions of specific events, or guarantees about money, health, relationships or legal outcomes.
  • Medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, in zodiac language or otherwise.
  • Fear-selling. Tai Sui and Ben Ming Nian are described as scheduling conventions and cultural customs, never as threats that a product can neutralise.
  • Invented people. No fabricated testimonials, no stock-photo experts, no invented customer counts or press mentions.
  • Horoscope-style daily or weekly forecasts. They are not what this site is for.

How automation is used

We are explicit about this because most sites are not:

  • Calculations are never automated guesswork. Zodiac year, animal, element, polarity and every relationship between two signs are computed deterministically in code. No model decides a sign.
  • Drafting may be assisted. Some explanatory text is drafted with language-model assistance and then edited and checked against sources by a human before it is published. Nothing goes live unreviewed.
  • Artwork is generated. The illustrations on this site are produced with an image model from prompts we write, in one house style. No stock photography is passed off as ours, and no generated image depicts a real person.

Corrections

If something is wrong — a date, a translation, a relationship between two signs, a cultural description — write to support@myzodiacguide.com with the page and the correction.

  • We reply within three business days with either a fix or an explanation of why the current text stands.
  • Date and arithmetic errors are fixed immediately and the “last updated” line changes.
  • We do not silently rewrite published positions. Material changes are described in the page’s own update note.

Independence and money

We sell digital readings and downloads. That is the business model, and it is the only one. Concretely:

  • No paid placements, sponsored zodiac pages, or pay-for-mention in editorial content.
  • No affiliate links in readings or guides. If that ever changes, every affected page will say so at the top.
  • Products are described in the same voice as the free pages — no separate “sales” register, no inflated certainty.

Advertising

We do not run display advertising on the zodiac and reading pages. AdSense and comparable networks restrict astrology and esoteric content, and ad density on this kind of page damages the reading experience. If advertising is ever introduced, it will be limited to reference pages, disclosed, and never inside a reading.

Images and sharing

Illustrations are ours, generated in-house and used consistently across the site. Free share images carry a low-opacity “MyZodiacGuide.com” mark; paid downloads do not. You may repost a share image with the mark intact; you may not remove it or present the artwork as your own.
